Pehredaar Piya Ki latest news: PPK cast to return with sequel of show, Tejaswi Prakash to continue but Afaan Khan dropped out

Sony TV’s controversial show Pehredaar Piya Ki has been pulled off air all of a sudden following a joint decision taken my makers of the show and channel heads. The show fell into trouble right since the beginning as many viewers objected to the content of the show which focused on the marriage between a 10 year old boy and an 18 year old woman.


A section of the viewers alleged that the makers were promoting child marriage through the show and also felt that the content was highly inappropriate. In the history of Indian television, this is the first time that a show has been pulled off air because of its content. Earlier on, there was news that following the complaint made by some viewers, the I&B ministry had directed the channel to change the time slot of the show and air it at 10:30- PM.


However, the makers of the show as well as the channel were not too keen to air the show at an off peak time slot and took a final decision to end the show for good. However, the producers of Pehredaar Piya Ki  have already come up with a back-up plan. Producer Sumeet Mittal has already announced that he will be coming up with a new show having a better storyline. Moreover, this news show will have the same cast and crew as Pehredaar Piya Ki.


There is a strong speculation that this show will actually be a sequel of Pehredaar Piya Ki and it will continue with the same story of the show after a time leap. Except for the child actor Afaan Khan, the entire cast of PPK will be a part of the new show and there will also be an introduction of some new actors.
